Grassroots feminist show VIOLET: Disability and art in Eastern Europe

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sqJRheg4Zw

The latest episode of VIOLET is with the artist Gabrielė Gervickaitė, currently based in Vilnius. Gabrielė is well-known in Lithuania for careful juxtaposition of medical and industrial materials in her work. Her collages make limbs in orthopaedic devices look like radio towers and by using electrical tape she constructs androgynous torsos. Such strategies have established Gabrielė as one of the most interesting artists of her generation in Lithuania. More on Gabrielė - http://gabrielegervickaite.com/
