"Spread the word – Ladyfest Malmö is back!

After a few years of silence, Ladyfest Malmö is now back to once again offer Malmö the chance to experience great music, art, scene performances and much more.

We are here to make way for more women in these sectors, but most of all to give you all a fantastic time!

On the 15-16th of April, we will have a festival at Inkonst and Palladium in Malmö. The program is yet to be set!

Ladyfest Midwest 2011

"Ladyfest Midwest Chicago, as it was originally called, was more than just a four-day festival. It was a community event that raised nearly $20,00 for Chicago Women’s Health Center and Women in the Director’s Chair. The event brought together more than 4,000 people from around the world. One hundred bands, 40 visual artists, 35 spoken-word artists, 47 film and video makers, 38 performance artists, 50-plus workshop hosts, and 100 volunteers congregated in the Windy City on August 16–19, 2001.

Ten years ago, on June 2001, in Genoa at San Giorgio Palace, the women network (who at that time joined the World March of Women) started the agenda of political events and rallies of Genoa Social Forum with an international meeting titled Punto G: gender and globalization – For an equal, democratic, fair, supporting and peaceful society of women and men, that ended with a demonstration in the centre of the city.

The association Il Paese delle Donne was founded in 1987, is based at the Casa Internazionale delle Donne in Rome and promotes women's policies by running a publishing house, their webzine and an archive, organizing seminars, workshops, conferences, exhibitions, networking activities etc. Since 1987 they also have been publishing the Foglio del paese delle donne (print)

"Ladyfest is a global celebrated festival and was brought to the IE last year. Ladyfest IE is a grassroot, D.I.Y, feminist festival. It consists or workshops, music, vendors, speakers, poetry, art & the participation of the community. Ladyfest’s goal is to inspire women & to bring awareness on local and global strugles. The first Ladyfest IE took place in the summer of 09, and thanks to the collaboration of a collective it was possible to host it again this year.
