¿Qué es la marcha de las maracas?
A comienzos de este año, un policía canadiense sorprendió a muchas personas con la siguiente afirmación: “Si las mujeres no quieren ser violadas deberían evitar vestirse como putas (sluts)”, representando un pensamiento común en nuestra sociedad, donde el deseo y la autonomía de la mujer se ven sujetos a parámetros machistas, basados en concepciones opresivas y limitantes (mujer 'decente' vs mujer 'puta').

NO ONE has the right to touch you without your consent. SlutWalk NYC is part of a worldwide grassroots movement challenging rape culture, victim-blaming and slut-shaming, and working to end sexual and domestic violence.

On Sunday, 4 December, 2011, the SlutWalk march will be marching from Causeway Bay to Wanchai. People of all different ages, ethnic backgrounds, sexual preferences and gender identities will gather at 3:00 PM to put a stop to victim blaming, especially in cases of sexual assault, rape and sexual harassment. SlutWalk Hong Kong will consist of a walk followed by a rally. Guest speakers – including members of the organising team, representatives from civil society, activists and others – will provide personal testimonies.

We are proudly taking a stand against sexual violence and the bully tactics of victim-blaming, as we are tired of being oppressed by slut-shaming; of being judged by our sexuality and feeling unsafe as a result. We recognize that we need to end not only the acts of sexual violence, but the excuses that allow that violence to continue. This is not just a women’s issue or a men’s issue; it is everyone’s issue — regardless of gender identification, class, religion, race, or any other identity markers.

La "Marcha de las Putas" es un movimiento que surge en Canadá en abril de este año, a raíz de las declaraciones que diera el policía Michael Sanguinetti, durante una conferencia sobre seguridad civil en Osgoode Hall Law School en Toronto, donde aseguró que “las mujeres deben evitar vestirse como “putas” para no ser víctimas de la violencia sexual”. The "Slutwalk" (como se denominó la primera marcha) es una denuncia pública en contra de todas las formas de violencia hacia las mujeres y de la estructura social e institucional que la reproduce y la justifica.

MANIFIESTO DE LA MARCHA DE LAS PUTAS - PANAMA / 25 OCTUBRE 2011

Somos un grupo de personas indignadas con el irrespeto y abuso del cual las mujeres somos víctimas, una violencia que se ha querido naturalizar, pero no es natural que a una mujer se le viole o agreda por su forma de vestir NO PUEDE SER NATURAL. ¿Qué justifica la violación de niñas, monjas y mujeres con burkas? ¿Acaso su sensualidad provocadora es lo que las hace víctimas?
