Hexennacht - Take Back The Night

"Take Back The Night" is an action regularly organised by feminists to oppose violence against women. In Belgium and the Netherlands this type of action is called "Hexennacht" (= Witch Night). Often it takes place on November 25th, the international day against violence to women.
In the Netherlands there have been Hexennacht actions in different cities such as Groningen, Utrecht and Amsterdam. In Belgium there have been Hexennacht demonstrations in Gent in 1998 (organised by FAM: http://home.scarlet.be/famweb/fam.html ), in 2006 (by Queerilla: http://queerilla.be/index.php?option=com_content&task=category§ionid... ), in 2007 (by Queerilla) and in 2008 (by FAB: http://www.feminisme.be/fab/ ).
