A primeira edição do festival cultural feminista Ladyfest aconteceu a exatos 10 anos atrás em Olympia, nos EUA.

Em 2004, a primeira edição brasileira tomou vários espaços da cidade de São Paulo para abrir caminho pra mais 4 edições que vieram nos anos seguintes. Em cada edição o público foi crescendo, chegando sempre na casa dos milhares, e a cobertura da midia grande e alternativa também se expandiu.

"Ladyfest is a music/arts/ideas festival celebrating the creativity of women/womyn/wombin, transfolks, queers, grandmas, gender nonconformists and allies. The first Ladyfest was held in Olympia, WA in 2000, and since then, women have organized their own festivals in cities across the globe. "GIRLS ROCK CAMP GRAZ
ein Projekt des Doku Graz

Das Girls Rock Camp wird von 25. Juli bis 1. August 2010 im Jugendkulturzentrum Explosiv Graz stattfinden.

Es richtet sich an alle Mädchen und junge Frauen, die Interesse an alternativer Musik haben (Rock, Punk, Metal, Indie,...) und gerne mehr in diesem Bereich machen würden!
Dabei ist es egal, ob Du schon ein Instrument spielst, in einer Band aktiv bist oder noch keine Vorerfahrungen hast.

Ladyfest is a community-based, not-for-profit global music and arts festival for female artists that
features bands, musical groups, performance artists, authors, spoken word and visual artists, and
workshops; it is organized by volunteers and is a family event that people of all ages are welcome
to attend.

The first ever Ladyfest was held in Olympia, Washington in August 2000 with over 2000
people attending. Prime motivators in the event were Sarah Dougher, Sleater-Kinney, Cat Power,
Neko Case, and Teresa Carmody.

"Ladyfest is an international festival which has taken place in over fifty cities since 2000 and, in 2010, Oxford will be holding its third ever festival!

In May last year we held a week of events including a club night, gigs, workshops and a crafternoon, and in 2008 we had an amazing day with lots of wonderful female performers. Both events were in aid of Oxford Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre.

"Ladyfest Goldsmiths 2010 is here and our peeps over at Ladyfest Goldsmiths have a whole week’s worth of music, workshops, talks and general feminist fun in store for us.

The week long event includes a showing of the Patti Smith documentary Dream of Life and a discussion on women in music afterwards.

The event also hosts the art exhibition ‘In her Shoes’ and a Ladyfest band night featuring the likes of Wetdog, Veronica Falls and PENS.
