The European Women's Lobby 50/50 Campaign: Gender Audit Report in view of the European Elections June 2009

The European Women’s Lobby* (EWL) 50/50 Campaign for Democracy has been running since September 2008 and is supported by more than 200 prominent personalities in Europe. It aims to put gender equality at the core of European policies and to promote the equal representation of women and men in the European institutions, in particular in the European Parliament.

The 50/50 Campaign has newly published a Gender Audit Report of Electoral Lists and Political Programmes, in view of the European elections of 4-7 June 2009.

Reclaim The Night marches give women a voice and a chance to reclaim the streets at night on a safe and empowering event. We aim to put the issue of our safety on the agenda for this night and every day.

This is going to be a hugely inspirational event being held in Nottingham but we want it to represent the entire of the East Midlands. This will be a rally through the centre of Nottingham and then there will be speakers and acts (TBC) afterwards.

Microcredit: an alternative for women´s empowerment? (WIDE event in Brussels)

WIDE, in the current context of its work on the neoliberal agenda, will
address the issue of microcredit as an alternative for women´s
empowerment during a one-day conference organized on the 15th of May in
Brussels.
The conference will aim at providing a comprehensive approach to microcredit: its specificities and impacts in the South, its implementation in the EU and its challenges especially in the context of the current financial and economic crisis. It will be an opportunity to gather different views and share experiences around microcredit practices.

FETT (Magazine)

Fett is a feminist magazine, which comes out with four issues per year. The magazine is published by the Women's Front, with financial support from the Freedom of Expression and the Norwegian Cultural Council, but the editorial work on independent basis. Fett is a member of the Norwegian Association Journal (www.tidsskriftforeningen.no)

Who are we to make fett? A lot of promising women and a few men who are tired of the usual press buy and sell stereotypical notions of gender and sexuality. Now hold it!
