Welcome to the F Word at FSU!
What is the F Word?
The F Word is a Recognized Student Organization (RSO) at The Florida State University. It is called the F Word because feminism has become a "dirty" word. The purpose of The F Word is to combat these myths. Our goal is to change the distorted vision of what feminism "is" so that people stop saying, "I'm not a feminist, but..." and start saying, "I'm a feminist, because..." Through group discussions, consciousness raising, and actions that heighten awareness in the community, we aim to develop, articulate, and enact feminist consciousness. The F Word is a constantly evolving group, based on grassroots policy and above all our own experiences. A priority is to be inclusive of many different progressive philosophies. We seek to reach those not necessarily aware of feminism as well as provide a common space for other feminists to share ideas, questions, problems, and solutions.
The F Word meets every Sunday at 7pm in various locations on campus. Check out the event calendar or join our Facebook group for event invites.
