Ladyfest SA is part of an international movement with LIVE music as the principal medium. Ladyfest SA is presented over a period of 7 days at various venues in Pretoria, Johannesburg, and hopefully Cape Town.

"Ladyfest originated in Olympia WA, home of the Riot-Grrl movement. It now occurs internationally, with each festival being organized, in the spirit of the original event, by small groups of independent parties. Ladyfest Vancouver is a small collective of people promoting "urban feminism," inspired by DIY Riot Grrrl culture. The main goal of Ladyfest Vancouver is to promote feminist issues in our city and raise awareness of womens rights amongst young and old alike. We are hoping to dispel the myths that feminism is taboo and gender-specific.

"Wer hat denn das hier gemacht? für alle, die interessiert, wie das erste frankfurter ladyfest entstanden ist und welche ideen und leute dahinterstecken, hier eine kleine vorstellung der orga-gruppe... die idee, in frankfurt ein ladyfest zu organisieren und durchzuführen, ist im laufe von besuchen von ladyfesten anderer städte gewachsen. Es war immer wieder lustig und überraschend, dort zufällig leute zu treffen, die aus der gleichen stadt angereist waren.

"Das ladyfest findet vom 25. - 27. Januar 2008 an diversen Orten in München statt.

Starten wird es am Freitag gegen 14.00 Uhr mit einem Veranstaltungstechnik Workshop in der Glockenbachwerkstatt.
Ab 15.00 Uhr hat dann auch das ladyfest Infocafé in der Glockenbachwerkstatt geöffnet. Das Infocafé wird das gesamte Wochenende als Anlaufstelle, Treffpunkt und Informationsplattform rund ums ladyfest dienen.
Ab ca. 15.00 Uhr öffnet die DiY-Station im Foyer der Glockenbachwerkstatt. Schauen, mitmachen, staunen und erstehen.
